These images show the measured "Kd" value (diffuse attenuation coefficient). Studies have shown that this is a good analog to represent light attenuation and water clarity. This is a calculated value based on the amount of 490nm blue light as seen from space. These are 3 different satellites that pass over daily. The relevant data range is based on what has been determined to be relevant based on in situ diver reports.
